Hello and welcome! My name is Janet Swain and I am the director of Song Dynasty Music & Events.
I am based in South Golden Beach, just north of Byron Bay, and I work in this area as a teacher, singer, performer and events organiser. You can read more about me here.
I love bringing people all of ages and generations together through music.
Through Song Dynasty Music I provide opportunities for people to make music through choirs, singing workshops, classes, camps and retreats.
I direct the Rebel Rebel Girls Choir – for girls between the ages of 8 and 12.
In 2017, Adrian Brett and I started an local community choir, on Monday evenings from 6.30 to 8pm. It is called Tropicappella Choir and meets at the Brunswick Heads Bowling Club. We are also soon to start a Monday morning Picture House Big Sing Choir at Brunswick Picture House starting on Monday 12th March 2018. Stay tuned for more info on that one.
Dynasty8 is our chamber choir – 8 voices singing some of the most beautiful classical music ever written.
I also organise workshops and concerts throughout the year for locals and visitors to Byron Shire and I teach classroom music at The Pocket Public School.

Song Dynasty Music 
I had the pleasure to meet Janet and take part in one of her previous choir projects. Janet has a great personality and is extremely passionate about music and sharing her experience. She is fantastic with children and adults alike and working with her is very enjoyable. What a blessing for Mullumbimby and the region to have Janet and Elizabeth around! I wish Song Dynasty Music great success!

I am so thrilled to hear about Song Dynasty. Before Mrs Carey, of the eponymous concert fame, there was (and still is) Liz Swain. I was privileged to be in some of her choirs as a teenager and the experience changed my life, more than anything else I learned during my school years. She is a legend! Janet is also an extremely talented singer, conducter and composer, and has a wonderful inspiring energy. The two of them together will make such a huge difference to the musical life of their community. You lucky people! I only wish I lived closer to Mullum.
My first experience singing with Janet today as part of the new Stingrays Choir. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I could see that the others did too! We are indeed very lucky to have her.
